The Nutcracker is the most beloved classical ballet of all time. Our production designed by former Disney artist, Don Carson is child friendly. It tells the story of Clara’s dream about her childhood sweetheart, Hans transformed into a life sized nutcracker soldier. The transformation of Clara’s home into the Mouse Kingdom is magical and exciting as giant mice appear from the fireplace and the comic Mouse King enters on a pirate ship. A carousel pony takes Clara for a ride through a winter wonderland and a hot air balloon takes Clara to the Land of Sweets where she meets all your favorite Nutcracker characters. Once again the Eugene Ballet is joined on stage by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Festival Choirs and ballet students from the Eugene Ballet Academy and the region. (Children appropriate 6 years and up)
